Project #20 Sew Together Bag

So I usually number my quilts, but have decided to number all projects.  Which to this point have all been quilts.  So this is my 20th project.

I have been wanting to make a Sew Together Bag but have been afraid of the zippers.  So over the last few days I took the leap.

I pulled out some fat quarters from Dot Dot Dash by Me & My Sister Design for Moda

All cut and ready to go.  I found Sew Along by Studioarblog  It was a blessing.  She had so many pictures of putting this bag together.  Lots on doing the zippers.  So with her pictures I was able to put together my bag.

I already knew I need to work on perfecting my binding installation.  But I think it turned out quite nice.  I was afraid of the thickness of the fabric when adding the binding in some spots, but my New Janome did the trick.

These are the greatest bags! You did a great job on it and I'm sure it will be used all the time!

That's a great bag. I feel the same reluctance to try any project involving zips!

Those Janomes! They're pretty fabulous machines! I have this pattern, too, but have been feeling a little intimidated. Maybe if I first do a fabric pull, then just cut everything out, I won't be able to resist starting to sew it together. If you can do it, I can do it, right? It's beautiful! Tell me, would you make another? ~karen

Love this bag with all the compartments but so many zippers. Guess you just do them one at a time, lol. Visiting from elmstreetquilts Bag It.

Oh wow that is a lot of zippers but it looks completely wonderful so it was definitely worth facing your fears!

I've found that you can't make just one of those bags. 🙂 Yours is so cute! Love the polka dots.
