April One Monthly Goal

Another month has flown by and we are now in April.  In talking with my Gram (before she passed in her 90’s) I mentioned how fast the time passes now that I was getting older.  She had a great reason, which made so much sense.

She said when you are 5 years old it takes forever to get to your birthday, since you are reflecting back on 1/5th  of your life.  When you are 40 they seem to come much quicker, since you are reflecting back on 1/40th of your life.  At that point, I couldn’t imagine how fast they must seem to go by for her at 85, reflecting on 1/85th of her life.

Here is my Gram, loved her and miss her every day.

April brings Easter, my 28th Wedding Anniversary and a much needed sunny vacation.  In that mix, I’m going to add another quilt to start and finish.

Again I bought a layer cake and then not remembering (that forgetfulness that sneaks up on me) bought a Frivoli box in The Cookie Exchange by Moda.

Well at least I’ll be early for the holidays after I accomplish this goal.  My April OMG is to complete this holiday quilt.  Need to decide on a pattern and get busy.

Well I see buying the same fabric twice as a sign that you must really like the fabric. Good luck!!!

Don’t you love it when you buy fabric and forget that you bought it already. That’s how stash happens, so I tell my husband. You and I both celebrate April Wedding Anniversaries, mine will be 43 years and that’s why my stash is big.

HA – I have totally done that myself. Two jelly rolls – one in October, one in January. I guess I really like it! It will be fun to see what you make . . . ~smile~

Your Grandmother sounds like she was such a wise woman! I never looked at time the way she did! I can definitely relate to your purchases! How many times have I bought the same fabric over and over again? LOL! 🙂 I’m eager to see what you use the layer cake with….I have a few laying around calling out to fulfill their purpose. 🙂

Time is passing quickly. My grandmother taught me to sew when I was 11 yrs old. Thanks for sharing about your grandmother.

Happy Anniversary! Have fun on your new project! I have one of those Frivols kits, but haven’t started it yet.
