Blue Stamps

Earlier this year, pre-pandemic, I did a stamp quilt with 1600 pieces.  I love that quilt.

This year I am in only one online quilt bee.  I was the July queen and decided to have stamp blocks done in blues.  These were my sample  fabrics for my bee mates.

And my sample block.

Knowing there were probably folks like me with minimal stashes, I let them know if they didn’t have a variety of blues to do rows and not sew them together.  Then I could intermix the rows with other rows and fabrics.  It was so fun to get blocks from around the world for this quilt.

Since my stash is so small, Rose at Something Rose Made, not only send me some blues, she cut them all into 2.5 squares.  I mean she sent lots!!!!!

I put them all together and here is my top.  It is 56 x 56.

Quilting is my favorite straight line, for these small squares I love to quilt a quarter inch from each seam.  It looks great on the front, but does a great simple pattern on the back.

Its done and I found a wide flannel, a bit thick, for the backing.  Of course the binding in black and white stripe.  I like it, really like it.  It makes the quilt feel much heavier, sometimes I need heavier.  Makes it cozy.

Thanks to each of my bee mates for this great quilt and to Rose!!!

There is nothing like.flannel for making a nice, heavier, cozy quilt. Your blues are so cool and vibrant! I love the light blue in the center! Nice finish, Jan!

That is really pretty all in blues! Great idea to have your bee mates send strips instead of completed blocks, too. Nice finish!

What a quilt full of love and happiness. The blues look great together and I know what you mean about quilts with a bit more weight being extra cozy, especially in the winter.

You are most welcome Problem Sista! It was nice to reduce some of the blue stash and my die cutter helped. Love this quilt, it does look snuggly.
