March Bee Blocks

Had a Goldilocks and the three bears kind of morning.  One of my bee queens asked for the Blossom Heart Quilts – Treasure Hunt

block.

Simple enough.  Print off my templates and go.  First block too small, 6″ x 6″.  Second block too big, 6.75″ x 6.75″.  Third block just right, thank goodness.  I know you are all saying why didn’t you measure the paper piece print before I started.  I did each time and I have no idea how I thought I saw 6.5″  Needless to say this simple block took me about 3 hours total.  That includes printing, sewing, trimming, OOPS.  Then reprinting, sewing, trimming, OOPS!  But they are all set and ready to be mailed to the March Queen.

I was thrilled that she didn’t want us to sew the blocks together and wanted us to leave the paper on.  Thank you Mary!!!

On to my second bee, the queen requested Blossom Heart Quilts Fizzy block

This was a repeat from our February queen, so I was ready for the curved seams.  Her fabric choice was very simple and detailed.  So I cut my fabric and put together my blocks.  Ready to lay them out to put the four blocks together.

Another OOPS.  The small corners are suppose to be red and the bigger corners are to be pink.  Off to recut these fabrics.  Here are these finished blocks.

We now are good to go.  All my Bee blocks for March will be mailed on Monday.  The sewing machine and all my sewing stuff will be packed this week.

Next time I sew will be in South Carolina, sometime in April.

I thought I heard screaming but may have picked them up in my brainwaves, Good for you for persevering and sending them off. I may have been tempted to keep them. Still finding it sad to see one of my MW Sistas moving, Michigan is saying a swell goodbye to you with the lovely Winter we’re having.

Hi Jan! I haven’t started on Mary’s blocks yet but I have printed MANY of the templates just because I don’t expect this will go well. I haven’t paper pieced in years and years . . . so my fingers are crossed. That’s so funny that you had to make Fizzy again this month. I hope you move goes smoothly and I certainly wish you safe travels. I look forward to hearing about how things went and seeing your new place. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

Oh, those types of sewing days are so frustrating, but you made good on it with some very pretty blocks! And you didn’t have to tear paper (yay)! I’m very excited for you and your move, knowing that you have waited so patiently for it. Of course, I can’t wait to see your new sewing digs!
