2020 Planning Party

2019 Planning Party

2020 is upon us and Yvonne at  Quilting Jetgirl is having her #2020PlanningParty.  It is always fun to participate and see what other are planning for the coming year.  Here are my plans, so far for 2020:

Quilts

  • Charity quilts, last year I make quilts for Jack’s Basket.   They were always quick and fun to put together, but the postage to mail them is killing some of the fun.  I need to find a new way to send or find a closer charity for 2020.  I’d rather spend that money on fabric and quilts than postage.
  • Stamp quilt using 38 mini charm packs for a total of 1596 2.5″ squares!! Collected these minis over the years of collections I used for quilts made.
  • Wedding quilt for my niece in October.  Layer Cake, Charm Packs, thread, backing and binding purchased.
  • Red and White quilt for my bedroom.  No ideas on fabric or pattern yet.
  • Quilt for my bedroom using the new Breeze by Zen Chic for Moda.  FQ Bundle, Binding and backing all purchased.

Moda Fat Quarter Bundle - Breeze by Zen Chic

Minis – there are many quilt block patterns I have been wanting to make and just aren’t sure what fabric or what I would do with them, so to feed that hunger, I decided to do some minis to test out the blocks.

  • Mabel by Vanessa Lella Boutique
  • Snow Blossom also by Vanessa
  • Swoon by Camille  Thimble Blossoms
  • Moda Love for Halloween
  • HRT trying out my Bloc Loc rulers

Projects

  • Peapod cases
  • Pencil cases

House

  • Dresser Topper – 2
  • Table Runner using Forest Pattern, another by Vanessa
  • Winter Porch Rocker pillows
  • Christmas Porch Rocker pillows
  • Dresser topper – 2 for Christmas

What are your Quilty plans for 2020?  I’d love to hear.  Be sure to stop over to Yvonne at Quilting Jetgirl and see what everyone has planned for 2020.

Oooh, Breeze is a lovely collection and should make a really calm and gorgeous quilt for your bedroom. I hope you have a wonderful 2020!

Do you belong to a Quilt Guild? They usually make quilts of all sizes for charity. Just bring them finished to a meeting and whoever is Chair of the Service Projects will take them where they go. No postage involved. Plus you’ll benefit from all the quilty friends you’ll make.

An impressive list of goals, but not so much to make you feel overwhelmed. Two of my guilds have programs for charity quilts that we contribute to local hospitals for their NICUs. The importance of this really struck me when my grand daughter (and her fraternal twin our grand son) was born. She spent a couple weeks in the NICU with breathing and feeding issues – not as severe a situation as others in the room. The hospital provided the quilts made by local guilds to cover the incubators to keep out light and maintain warm. A side benefit was the cheerful colors, along with the gifting of the quilts to the family.

Breeze is a beautiful collection, and I’m sure that quilt will be stunning. I’m interested in what you decide to do for the red and white quilt, too. I’ve seen some that I’ve just loved but I’ve never made one myself. I’ll be following to see how your year goes! Happy new year!

Wish you could slip those Jack’s Basket quilts through the computer to me, and I could drive them over to their offices. I love everything Lella Boutique does. I have the Snow Blossom pattern too. Let me know when you start and we can do a SAL. Zen Chic fabrics are the best!!!

I love the detailed nature of your goals – you have a clear plan for 2020! I enjoy making quilts using 2.5″ squares and have made a few with almost 2,000 squares each; time consuming but the result is always worth it! Good luck with each goal project!

You’re going to be busy in 2020! I like how you’ve got a few for each category of project — you’re not going to be bored this year!
