Quilters Meet & Greet 2019

Welcome to my stop on Benita’s Online Quilter Meet & Greet for 2019.  I enjoyed the 2018 Meet and Greet, adding many new quilters to follow.  Hopefully, you will find a few this year.

My name is Jan and I have been quilting since the fall of 2015.    I started this blog to help me keep track of the quilts made.  To date I have made 63, funny I just turned 63.

This is my first quilt, simple and quick, which is good for a first quilt.  Pretty proud of picking out fabric and colors.

This was the start of it all.

Last year I was fortunate enough to quilt along with Fat Quarter Shop on this quilt.  It is my current favorite.  We just moved and this quilt is perfect with our new furniture and is receiving lots of compliments from the new neighbors.  You can read more of the details on this quilt here.

Along the way I had a blast doing Quilt Bee blocks with groups on the internet.  Each month someone chooses a block and we all make a block and send along.  As the queen you get 11 blocks to add to your block and have a nice size throw.  This is one of my favorite blocks and you can read about it here.

Jack’s Basket is the charity I decided to quilt for this year.  Here are four quilts that were put together with blocks from the months I was queen.  They turned out perfectly and will hopefully bring joy to their recipients.

Now that you have seen some of my favorites, I hope you follow along with me.

Be sure to hit the following links to see many other quilters and their stories.  You may see a few you currently follow and may find a few to start following.

Another big bonus is that there is a great giveaway Benita is holding to add excitement to this Meet & Greet.  Be sure to enter at Benita’s site.

I loved seeing your first quilt and the beautiful quilts that you will donate to Jack’s Basket. Your current favorite is gorgeous! The colors are soothing and exciting at the same time. The stash bee sounds so fun. Can anyone join in?

I’m a couple of years older than you and I don’t think I have made 63 quilts yet…but I’m not keeping track so who knows. I love your first quilt. It is so colourful and such beautiful colours.

You are a star! You have made quite a few quilts in your short career and so many for donations! Hooray! Your FQ QAL is stunning – no wonder your neighbors are complimenting it!

Wow I never knew how many quilts you’ve made in such a short time and being a newbie too. Being the Problem Sista is understandable now. It’s been great knowing you these past few years and hopefully the Sistas can get together. Hope you can sew during the next few days and be safe.

I love those kind of quick and easy quilts. Yours turned out great and it looks way more complicated but then I clicked through and saw how it is a disappearing kind of block and I love it!!!

Hi Jan! I find it amazing that you just started quilting a few short years ago. You skills belie that date and it seems like you have been quilting for years. Your quilts look so pretty all lined up for Jack’s Basket. The beehive block you shared looks like a fun paper-pieced one. ~smile~ Roseanne

Nice to meet you! I just moved too, but the neighbors aren’t allowed inside, (they don’t have house manners). I also acquired an entourage, and every time they hear my voice they think its food time! You certainly caught the quilting bug!

Jack’s Basket, a wonderful way to share your quilty talents. Love that block, those colours together are bright and lovely.
