September Bee Blocks

Another months blocks are complete and mailed.

The Abacus block from Blossom Heart Quilts was picked by Elaine in my Swarm Lily Pad hive.  We’ve done this block a few times over the years and it is always a quick and easy block to go together.

Kathy in my Honeybee hive chose the Fizzy block from Blossom Heart Quilts.  I always have a hesitation with the block, curves are my challenge.  I think I am getting better and less stressed with each block.  The fun part is Kathy asked that we not sew the four quadrants together for the block.  She will mix them all up when she receives everyone’s  block.  This will be a great quilt to see together.

The last block Meghan chose for our Stash Bee Hive.  It is a quick and easy Christmas tree block using this pattern from Diary of a Quilter.

I put these together early this month, but didn’t get to mail them for a week after the storm was cleared and the post office reopened.  Only a few more blocks this year.  2020 will be upon us before we know it.

Great blocks! I like to do curved piecing; I like the challenge of seeing if I can do it right 🙂 Those abacus blocks are very cool. Glad the storm has cleared through for you too!

What great blocks for the Bee’s! I love curves as long as I don’t have to make them for others! They don’t always turn out the exact same size and that’s when I improvise to make it work!

Hi Jan! I haven’t seen the Abacus block before and didn’t notice it was from Blossom Hearts. That is some fabulous fabrics you chose for that block – what a pretty quilt that will be. I wonder if we’ll be looking for another member to fill a spot for 2020 in our beehive. ~smile~ Roseanne

Although all your blocks look lovely, the abacus block is very striking. And I can assure you that your curved piecing is terrific.
The trees are a super-hit with just about everyone. Great choices for the Stash Bee blocks. Have a sew wonderful weekend.
