2023 Planning Party

Before we start looking at 2023 Quilting Plans, let’s review my 2022 plans.

2022 PLANS

Blog on each project upon completion

King Christmas Quilt – Completed

Queen Christmas Quilt – Completed

Use my Breeze FQ Bundle- Did not happen, haven’t even give it a thought.

Participate in 1 Stash Bee Hive – Completed for the fifth year.

Start ruler work on – Did not happen again,  I’ll keep it on the list for next year, maybe it will be my year.

I didn’t really have any big goals for 2022, which may be why I didn’t really get many things done.  Need to get better on that for 2023.

Small Projects

  • runners
  • placemats
  • bowls

One other recap I like to do is for myself.  Since I started quilting in late 2015 I have completed 105 quilts, ranging from baby to king.  Bags, runners, totes and other projects have totaled 63.  Ready to be productive and enjoy my quilting time in 2023.

One more update for 2023, that will take much of my time and energy.  I was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer, getting treatment and healing will be my primary goal for 2023.  But quilting will be my distraction for 2023.  Be sure you all do your self checks and get those mammograms regularly.

Below are my past planning posts.  It is strange to see what I had planned, as well as what really happened.  Anyway it was always a joy to share!

Jan , I will be sending you love and healing thought all year. I hope that the treatment you need to receive isn’t too hard on you and that you enjoy your quilting time to it’s fullest in 2023. I wish you nothing but the best, and let me know if there is anything I can do to help in the year ahead.

I love that you did get a lot of things done – your Christmas quilts and the Stash bee hive! It is funny to see what we do and drop as the year goes on. I know this year will be different but I do hope that you are able to use your quilting as your distraction. Small goals worked for me as I recovered from my ankle break and it sounds like that is just what you have in mind. You will be in my prayers as you go through this, do let me know if there is anything I can do!

Nice work, Jan! That king Christmas quilt was especially quite an accomplishment, considering you quilted it on your home machine. Praying for your recovery in 2023. I love that quilting will be your distraction!!!

Your Christmas quilts are beautiful and cheerful. I wish you the very best in 2023 both in your treatments and your quilting distractions.

I’m sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Having gone through it myself, as you know, you will come out the other side changed. I would suggest the FB group called Breast Cancer,I got this run by Sue Hampel. There is a lot of good support and they have a TON of info. I asked all my questions and they answered it all. Will be praying for your healing. Please keep me updated and reach out if you need to talk!! xoxo
